Answer:  2011 was much drier than 2010 (516.6mm v 699.4mm) but 201.4mm of this total fell in spring, up on the average of 174.1mm - so most people (68%) guessed correctly.  Well done!

Answer:  Despite looking promising on several occasions (especially in July) not a single snow flake fell in Gungahlin during winter 2011.  This made it the third winter in a row without any snow.  Only 6 (or 13.6%) of voters got it right!

Answer:  The first ground frost of 2011 occurred on April 23 when the air temperature dropped to 1.3°C.  This was 10 days after the first frost of 2010.  So the correct answer was after April 13.  Less than half (43.8%) of voters got it right.

Answer:  The hottest temp in Gungahlin during the 2010/11 summer was 37.1°C, recorded on Australia Day (26 January).  Therefore, the correct answer was 37°C to 39°C - So 71.4% of voters got it right.  Well done!

Answer:  2010 turned out to be the second wettest year recorded in Gungahlin with 699.6mm.  Spring accounted for 230.6mm of this total.  So almost all voters (98%) got it right!  Well done!

Answer:  The first sub-zero night in Gungahlin in 2010 was recorded on 13 May 2010, when the temperature dropped to -0.3°C at 7.11am.  So, the answer was yes, in May.  So 63.9% of voters got it right! Well done!

Answer:  The highest temperature recorded in Gungahlin during summer 2009/10 was 38.2 degrees (recorded on January 12).  So, the answer was no! 38.2. So 71.4% of voters got it right! Well done!

Answer:  For the third year running Tuggeranong won the local rainfall challenge with a total of 520.6mm.  Monash was second with 517.0mm, Canberra AP followed on 437.6mm and Gungahlin came last with just 390.2mm.  So 64.3% of voters got it right! Well done!

Answer:  No. Unfortunately, not a single snow flake fell in Gungahlin during the 2009 winter.  Gungahlin did, however, record its coldest ever maximum on June 12, when the maximum temperature was just 2.6°C.

Answer:  Obviously there isn't an 'absolute' answer to the question but, with over 42% of the votes it looks like winter is the favourite time of year for many people visiting the website.  As a fan of all things freezing, I certainly agree winter is tops!

Answer:  Spring 2008 was DRIER than average in Gungahlin.  Over the three months 141.4mm of rain was recorded - Sept: 41.4mm, Oct: 31.8mm and Nov: 68.2mm. So, 70% of people who voted were correct - congratulations!

Answer:  It snowed twice in Gungahlin during winter 2008.  Gungahlin residents awoke on Sunday, August 10 to a very light dusting of snow.  A heavier, but brief fall hit many suburbs of Canberra (including Gungahlin) around 1.30pm on the same date.  Gungahlin's temperature range on 10 August was -0.4°C to 4.8°C.
