101 Lake Eucumbene (Old Adaminaby) photos on CD Rom - just $15 (includes postage)

Lake Eucumbene (1,180m asl), located 7km SE of Adaminaby, is part of the 'Snowy Mountains Scheme'.  On completion in 1974, the Scheme consisted of seven power stations, 16 major dams, 145 kilometres of inter-connected tunnels and 80 kilometres of aqueducts.  Eucumbene dam is 116.1m high, was completed in 1958 and Lake Eucumbene has a shoreline of 6,735,300 m3.

Today, the original township of Adaminaby (once known as Seymour) lies under the lake and when the lake drops many of the foundations of the old town can be seen on the banks.

Remains of a farm house re-surfaces after 50 yrs under Lake Eucumbene - July 2007

Hurry… the price of this package may rise soon... get yours now for just $15 (includes postage)

Lake Eucumbene at just 10.1% of capacity   Remains - St Mary's Catholic Church   Farm machinery re-surfaces after 50 years   House foundations at Old Adaminaby   Fishing in the snow at Providence Portal

Package includes 101 images of Lake Eucumbene and Old Adaminaby, an interesting fact sheet on the history of (original) Adaminaby – this includes a time line on developments at the site, information on the lakes water levels over the years, weather, and a bit about the usual resident population of Old Adaminaby and Anglers Reach.  It also includes a description of the photos – including when they were taken and the water level of the lake at the time.

Includes some photos of the lake at a record low capacity (10.1%) in June 2007 - these photos haven't been possible for almost 50 years and may not be able to be taken again for another 50 if the lake doesn't fall to 10.1% again (current level 19.3%)!

What you'll get?

* 101 Photos on CD Rom I’ll send you a copy of 101 of the photos I have taken around Lake Eucumbene (Old Adaminaby) since about 1998.  The photos show the lake in different seasons and water levels - many including old ruins that have re-surfaced for the first time since the lake was filled in 1959.

In the package are some photos of the lake taken when it fell to a record low level of just 10.1% of capacity in July 2007.

For example, the shot you see on this web page (top right of screen) shows the lake at this record low - it shows the ruins of an old house that sat in front of the (original) Adaminaby showground (the tress in the shot outline the showground).  This photo is interesting in that these ruins sat under the waters of the lake for almost 50 years, and with the lake again above the 10.1% mark (currently 19.3%), these ruins may not be seen for another 50 years - why wait, you can have a copy of the photo now!

 * Old Adaminaby 'Fact Sheet'  - The package also includes an interesting fact sheet (in PDF format) on the history of (original) Adaminaby.  For example, did you know that when the town was proclaimed in 1885 it was called Seymour, but was re-named 'Adaminaby' 18 months later to avoid confusion with Seymour in Victoria?

 * Description of the photos - The package also includes a description (in PDF format) of the photos, including where and when they were taken, and the water level at the time the photo was taken.  This acts as a unique ‘time-line’ of the rise and fall of this magnificent lake.

Please Note: This is a copy of the photos I have taken.  I may offer this package a number of times so others may also buy them.  Chances are the price will rise in future if the package proves popular – so why not get your copy at this special price!

I'll post you the 101 photos, the fact sheet and the photo description on a single CD Rom via regular Australia post mail. Note: the fact sheet and photo description are in PDF format.
